Japan had a zero interest rate policy in place and it did not work. They need to clean out the bad debt in the
banking system and reduce cross holdings in corporate Japan. I think they are going to get serious about this
after all this time.

Japan has the oldest demographic profile of any major country and that increases private savings rates and
reduces capitalistic risk taking.

At least since Japan owes the debt to itself, foreigners can not topple their debt system as happened elsewhere
in Asia.
