This had nothing to do with incompatibility of mixing manufacturers RIMM's on a mobo. From the referenced Intel document it was a problem with the Intel OR840 Workstation Board, and Intel fixed it.

Errata 28, PC800 4 and 6 device RIMM support..........

Status: This erratum is fixed on all boards with revision -701 and higher.


Note that the problem was fixed on Intel's motherboards, not on the RIMM's.

JMO's
