I don't think I shall be linking to Bloomberg.com TV, since I can't get this MoneyFlow thing out of my head, perhaps its because they repeat the segment frequently. At least on CNBS there's a certain amount of ironic, if unintended, humour in everything they say. Its interesting, at least to me, that despite the massive public participation in the markets this last go-round, TV and Radio can't even provide useful information along with the closing values and net change. I've been thinking of writing a new script for our local radio and TV stations. Instead of: "Today the Nasdaq shed 23 points to close at 923 because Foot In Mouth Disease has affected three people in Oshgosh." We could have: "Today on the markets price moved because that's what it does each day in the market. All sorts of people have ideas as to why it does, but the truth, dear listener, is that we are all guessing." "Apparently someone wanted to sell today, and the Nasdaq closed near the lows of the day, down 23 to close at 923, breaking yesterday's lows by 17 points." "On the S&P Futures, a narrow range day was put in, frustrating traders who were probably looking for some sort of climatic resolution to the steady decline. Instead, S&P traders had to resort to looking on wistfully at the Nasdaq dropping almost from the outset and trending rather well all day. Traders in the pits and in basements around the country were heard to mutter 'We'll get you tomorrow you bastard'". "In a related story, Winnifred P. Huffenpuffer initiated an employment health and safety suit against her employer, Datek, for workplace conditions leading to a disability from a severe case of 'Margin Clerk Finger', a recently diagnosed malady raging throughout Wall, Bay, and Bombay streets. 'I warned them not to force us to use rotary phones for this job', explains Ms. Huffenpuffer. 'Not only are the phones damaging our fingers but by the time we dial through, the client's accounts have almost always hit zero', she was able to add before being whisked away by an official company spokesperson."
