In fact he's off on his own tangent as usual, dealing directly with things I did not say. <<<Anti-semitism is not a Christian belief. It is a belief held by many Christians and others but it is not a part of the basic Christian faith.>>> This is the original assertion of Tim's that you seemed to take issue with, since you posted a totally bogus article accusing the New testament of blatant anti Semitism, which I challenged as inaccurate. It was bogus when you posted it and it remains so. These types of attacks on the Bible are, in many cases, the result of a deep seated hatred of The God of the Bible, who just for your information, inspired the writers of both, Old and New Testaments. From your article, "What book depicts Jews as hypocrites, apostates, liars, and sinners? What book denounces Jewish leaders and the Jewish nation? What book scolds its priests, claims its Temple services are corrupt, and spews forth warnings that God's judgments will fall upon the Jews? What book - accusing the Jews of murder, corruption, greed, and robbery - declares that they have forsaken God?" What book? What book indeed, how about this from the book of Isaiah chpt 56:10, speaking of the Jewish rulers. Israel's watchmen are blind, they all lack knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they lie around and dream, they love to sleep. They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, each seeks his own gain. "Come," each one cries, "let me get wine! Let us drink our fill of beer! And tomorrow will be like today, or even far better." So was Isaiah a Jew hater? I could quote scores of other passages that are at least as harsh if not more so. Read the blessings and curses found in Deuteronomy 28:- 30: for instance. Therefore my original post stands, and is accurate.Try reading the Old Testament, The Jewish leaders don't come off much better than they do in the New. Since the vast majority of the New Testament was written by Jews, to Jews, I think it is hilarious that "it" (the New Testament) could in any way be construed as being anti Semitic. Some of these so called scholars should return their degrees to the cereal box companies they got them from. What a joke Notice I did not say that no Christians are or have been anti Semitic. I simply noted that, if they are, then they do so in opposition to the teaching of the Bible, not because of it. Have a good evening, Greg
