A plus??!! For whom? You like the idea of children spattered on pavement?

No, I like the idea of freedom. I am not a child and I don't need the federal or VA state government treating me like I am one. I wear a seatbelt and would continue to wear one if it was not a legal requirement but its my own decision and not a proper matter for government intervention.

What a strange day this is. You and I are finding all sorts of things about which to disagree. And this is one of them.

Are you aware that there are lots and lots of people who have to decide between obeying the seat belt law and risking death in an auto accident?

I will make this short. I've got pages and pages of argument between me and Acura on this subject, but I'll spare you. Let me just say that Federal regulations don't intend for seat belts to fit everyone and they don't always fit even those people, like me, whose bodies conform with the Federal standard. There is almost no car available with a shoulder harness that doesn't fit me across my throat where a small collision would cause my windpipe to be broken and a larger one could slit my throat. Other people have fit problems for other reasons. Do you really think that Uncle Sam should deny us the choice that presents the lesser risk?
