What about your children? I suggest that if you were not wearing seat belts (exercising due diligence) your insurance won't cover any injuries that would have been prevented. If you are brain-dead your parts will be used for the greater good. Your freedom should cost you since you are willing to actively try to increase the odds of hurting yourself. You are free to drive without the seatbelts. The fines are the price.

It is proper if enough people think it is
If enough people think they don't want free choice we won't have it
If enough people want more Soc Security because they lost all their money in the market, young people will pay more
It's all about power
there is no right, there is no wrong (of course we personally think there is- and I know I have a long list of what I think is right and wrong, but it's meaningless in any ultimate sense)
There is only the collective (whatever collective you happen to be in), and what it deigns to enforce.
If your collective isn't comfy cozy for you- you are SOL
