But they do make good mining birds ... and we need the contra-indicator else feel too comfortable in the den, sheltered from the storm, with nothing to snack on, and so we must go through the threads every now and then to hunt up a snack and teeth picking bones. Our Chugs, Jay

P.S. I am generally a generous person at heart, but a bit of on-line taunting is unavoidable, to relieve the tension of the moment and for good fun. Nothing personal, and certainly nothing mean and nasty.

My dad did his stint in London's Hyde Park in the 20s, on a soap box, talking about the great proletariat revolution and new hope for the world. It was a good thing he had a good sense of humor and citizenship in a bunch of countries.

John, a very astute observation about economists...in keeping with the general good humor of this thread
I venture my own meager contribution that I hope can bring a smile to most of the hardy folks on this thread.
Humor is needed by bulls and bears alike in these scary days.
I am a semi-retired neurologist and occasionally remember some dark humor of the med school days
sometimes worth repeating for everybody ( e.g. as previously posted, one of our profs told the students
on surgery rotation to remember that eventually all bleeding stops.)
Your comment about economists reminds me of a med school description of medical specialties:
Internists are folks who know everything but do nothing. Surgeons know nothing but do everything.
Psychiatrists know nothing and do nothing. Pathologists are folks who know everything, and they DO
everything...a day too late (autopsies, I add for those barely awake enough to be reading this late..or early.)My apologies for digressing OT...God I DO love this thread!
