Re: "I'm thinking at MOABO we could be looking at DOW 8000."

I wouldn't be surprised if the bottom was Dow 8000 or lower.

Re: Reallocation (i.e., purchase of equities) to get back to 35% equities

That sounds like a reasonable approach to me, as long as it is implemented gradually through dollar-cost-averaging.

Re: DJIA 36,000

Whoops! That was a typo. <g>

Best wishes,

Pete,

As the Qs were sinking into the low 40s Friday, giving me exactly a 50% loss on the start of my CTR buys, I was thinking exactly along the lines you were. What in the world was Bob thinking, trying to go against the market, when the more obvious (and SAFE) play, was to wait for an opportunity to go *with* the market. (Which is the trade that you, Marc, myself, and undoubtedly others were already in when we switched sides based on Bob's bulletin.)

It's exactly the way Jesse Livermore would've done it. To paraphrase Jesse, "It's a bear market. Stocks go down. You SELL stocks in a bear market."

I can't believe Bob thinks selling (short) in a bear market is more dangerous than trying to buy. And I can't believe I was so stupid for going along with the idea! (20/20 and all. :-)

Now I feel exactly like a deer trapped in an oncoming car's (Mack truck's) headlights. I *know* the Qs are going lower, possibly much lower, but I can't possibly sell here. Guess I'll just have to wait until they cross 30, and then capitulate with the rest of the masses.

Ken
