Very Mean Men news:

Hollywood Partners' "Very Mean Men" Scheduled to Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival

CENTURY CITY, Calif.--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 23, 2001--On the heels of the recent acquisition announcement, the newly merged companies, Hollywood Partners.com Inc. (OTCBB:HLYP - news) and Giants Entertainment Inc., are scheduled to attend the Cannes Film Festival.

The company will be marketing one of the key assets acquired in the merger, the $6 million film ``Very Mean Men.''

From its first appearance at the Seattle Film Festival to Oldenburg, Germany, and the AFI in Los Angeles, ``Very Mean Men'' has been thrilling audiences and critics alike. The buzz surrounding ``Very Mean Men'' has been impressive.

Comments from festival critics where the film has played have been extremely positive. The Hunte Report described it as ``a delicious black comedy'' and ``one of the audience's favorites.''

Ken Eisner of the Daily Variety called it ``the funniest crime caper to come down the pike since 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels''' and also commented that it ``could prove very kind to the right distributor.'' Nordwest Zeitung touted the film as having the potential for becoming a ``new cult movie.''

Hollywood Partners and Giants are planning a campaign to showcase the film with a strong Internet presence and special events planned for Cannes. Building on the film's prior successes, Giants and Hollywood Partners hope to impact Cannes and secure distribution opportunities for the film described by Rex Reed as ``one of the most original, exciting and offbeat films ... seen this year.''

``Very Mean Men'' is a Baio/White production of a Tony Vitale film, executive produced by Lydia Dadon, starring Matthew Modine, Ben Gazzara, Charles Durning, Burt Young and Scott Baio, with Louise Fletcher and Martin Landau, directed by Tony Vitale.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most important media events in the world, attended by approximately 4,000 journalists representing about 80 countries. There are more than 6,000 professionals present at the Cannes Market, including producers, exporters, distributors and buyers from 70 countries.

The After Sex trailer on the mvee.com web site make the movie seem like its worth watching. They did a good job with the trailer. If that trailer is on some other videos, MVEE could make some money.
