Interesting, but my take on the chart is a bit different ... overall, it seems that there is no consistent relationship to Fed interest rate actions and the general market trend unless there is a policy change after an extended period of "benign neglect," and that an expansionist policy (rate decreases) have consistently led to upturns in the markets over the last 50 years -- but I haven't studied it carefully.
