Hi Gottfried. Thanks for your post. Actually I'm not at all sure that I know what I'm doing. I have just reached a point where I think the potential gains justify the risks. I could change very quickly if things deteriorate from a macro perspective or with a real panic in the markets.

I think you are right on those stocks that seemed to have bottomed and then came back with two caveats: first, I think the semi-equip sector is still suspect since the thinking that apparently held it up is based on a 2-3 quarter pick up which may not occur because the spending plans of companies like intel may well change if those companies see more pain out front than they anticipated; second, if the markets collapse, I think those stocks which held up better after the dec collapse will actually drop very quickly to their december lows and then on down as those who hid in them for stability thinking they had reached a bottom seek shelter in cash or elsewhere.

I am more and more coming to the conclusion that if things continue on the course I anticipate, I will try to get a good bounce out of tech, sell it, try to buy the real bottom and then try to stay in the energy or energy related fields which I think will be the next hot stocks to own for several years as people find ways to make money off a more energy expensive world. This may change if the Middle Eastern countries can, and do, demonstrate that they can ramp up production and satisfy this decades growth needs at stable prices. I'm sure that others have a better plan but this is the best I can do. Ed
