Ed, thanks for your thoughts. Please bear with me to estimate when the semi equip slump will turn up again. If you look at the orders curve [the green line] and extend it at the same slope downwards, you get to orders similar to the last two cycle bottoms in about 3 more months. The first of those 3 months will be reported next week. Then we have two more months. The market usually anticipates the orders bottom, so prices have in the past turned up before the lowest monthly orders are reported by SEMI. I'll go out on a limb and say we have 2-3 months to buy semi equips. suite101.com

I'm just talking about the orders TURNING point, not how far up orders will go or how much equip stock prices will rise. And I'm betting the orders chart will be V shaped again - all economic problems notwithstanding.

I'm looking at OSX stocks again because this is one of the few somewhat sane sectors. Whenever I mention it on a tech thread I get polite silence, though. :)
