Rocklobster, you obviously don't read every post here. We began shorting stocks as REGULAR course of business on the HOME thread over a year ago. I began to post my shorts regularly throughout Sept/Oct/Nov. . . but tapered off my trading in 2001 to involve myself in other things for a time. We discuss short plays on a regular basis here. . . and many if not most here play both ways. Also, regarding margin liquidation, there has been extra long squeezing going on in recent weeks as was pointed out here, contrary to what I would have believed. . .and similar to the short squeezing that occurred a year ago. Both based deeply in greed. . . both yielding thinner profits. . . both increasing in risk as the squeezes continues. . . enough to make the squeezers squeamish. Greed puts the "queaz" in squeeze!!
