Haim - thanks for those charts - what is the Adjusted Monetary Base ? Is that in essence liquidity in the system ?

Haim, it is difficult to blame the feds for flooding needlessly the system late in 1999, there was a fear (real or imaginary does not matter , psychology is what counts) that the y2k will cause the market to seize and they had to act premptively. I think that it was an unfortunate timing, since the economy was already overheating late in 1999.
