So, your pov is that the telecom service companies (in U.S. and Japan) will, pretty much no matter what happens to the overall economy, be able to find financing, and continue current plans for spending on the 3G buildout? Is that right?

Would love to see any evidence you can provide of large cuts in wireless capex spending....I can show you dozens in the wired telecom space, but thus far, it is tough to see any real analogies in the wireless space.

Jacob: Chuckle. Nope, my pov is a little different in emphasis.

I am not suggesting that any company is immune to a recession (certainly not EMC nor CSCO).

I was trying to focus on what seems to be largely ignored in most "analyses", that the huge debt problem in telecom is a European one up to this point.

And right now that has zero negative impact on Qualcomm.

And that European debt, might, just might, be a factor in some opening for CDMA in Europe - though I am very very skeptical that anything could open up Fortress Europa to CDMA prior to UMTS. I see CDMA's (and the Q's) opportunities elsewhere.

Best.
