Re: MSM 6500 and MSM6600 It looks like Q has stolen a page from the DoCoMo playbook of early hype. With the exception that Q may actually have product available in a time frame similar to the year plus away promotion. Actually, it now gives everyone a timeline for the next few years of what functions/abilities will be available from Qualcomm and when.

what do you all think of the time frame from a competitive point of view? At first take I don't like it. Sooner the better,IMHO. It may be that Q* is deliberately rolling cdma - 1x etc. at an accelerated pace to encourage those still in the decision making phase to opt for cdma over GSM, al la Cingular, and to reward current adoptees. As someone else noted, it doesn't appear Q* is moving with great alacrity to bail out the w-CDMA camp with a commercial chip. HIgh stakes poker, whether by design or not. Pierre
