RE: "...the beautiful Maria B ...a pretty woman ...the banks will call me up and pay me to borrow money ...it was the best fantasy I could come up with today."

Ian, it's not clear to me, which is the "best fantasy?" <g>

1. The Fed is the most accomplished set of economists that the US has. I hope that they can be trusted to act professionally in doing their job: Economic growth with stable prices.

accomplished set of economists
TRUSTED??

Did you follow their actions when AG's buddies with Nobel prizes were about to lose 100's of BILLIONS of dollars?

Well he acted. Not as a trusted professional but as a friend of the Nobel Prize winners. Part of the problems we are going thru now is due to the unraveling of his actions and his meddling at that time..

He is not god - damn it - dont treat him like one.

LOL. I'll admit that I was listening to the talking heads on CNBC at the time -- but I got there first! I think they are intercepting my email or something. Of course, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed are kings; whatever that means.

I can grudgingly accept that the fed might know what they are doing. (God help us.) In any case, they're all we've got. As someone posted recently, all the people who really know how to run the country are busy driving taxis and cutting hair! (And posting on chatrooms.)

I was just grumbling because they denied me the opportunity to sell my covered calls during a short term bounce.

PS: Still and all, there's something to be said for doing the necessary now, rather than later. Just ask the Japanese economy.
