First, yes this is an on-topic if you agree that the price of gold is monitored as a vessel to observe other factors than those needed to speculate in the markets to make money. If not in your opinion, then this is an off topic post. The only other usage of importance to me is gold's use as a store of value with its unique character that it is not of a fiat money nature, which allows it to be used as a standard to protect the implementation of fiat money. That view is of an outwards observation to describe how society has decided to allow itself to become, and for me I wish to look inwards to discover not what has been made by people, but to look at the building blocks that are available to created many different structures in many different ways. Some structures will be good, some bad, and for each some will be solid and others weak. Please reference the follow before I address Darleen. From: George S. Cole The Sopranos and Gold Memo To: Lynne Cheney From: Jude Wanniski Re: The Soprano Rape Scene Message #66363 from Darleen Shurgot George with all due respect... this letter is not about reform and currency difficulties... It is business issue. Darleen, Ron Reece would receive some good news now, but since he has me on ignore, he will not. Rather than I continue in length and detail, I will now use a short simple and a somewhat incorrect example to explain my above comments to support my view that your opinion expressed is very very very wrong. water is H2O you say water is a liquid (economy = business issue) not hydrogen & oxygen (economy != (religious or moral)) To me the building blocks of the world's societies, which is represented by nations and governments and all the other stuff, is man and women thoughts which can be broken down into very small objects the like of which Rarebird got his Ph.D. Why there is no gold standard and why a woman is raped on a tv program as "entertainment" rather than as a way to inform and educate our youth to it's evil is derived from thoughts made into evil rather than good. To warn your children using that program as an example, to educate and explain to them what evil is will not accomplish what you wish to do. In your approach they will not recognize evil in its many other forms that do not carry a shell of violence hate hurt etc. Some evil is presented as help and loving and caring as was discussed recently on this thread when it was discussed that some schools used a method that required all students to be graded as "pass" and never as "failure", so that they never feel a lack of self-esteem. And it was pointed out that the above never came to an end once these students left school and entered the world outside, especially when they got a job and could not get it done and was fired. doug
