Maybe change 'doubt' to 'expect'?

When everyone expects that year 2001 is a wash.

I always try to look a year out. A stock doesn't get bought if I wouldn't hold it for the long term. That said, I think it wise to currently operate under the assumption that 2001 will be a wash. Control risk. Take profits when/if available. Position yourself for better times.

My definition of a 'wash' is that all things come out equal. A wash from here today assumes some sort of small upside for the remains of 2001.
