This is my last post on this topic, I promise :-)

Your delta v is what I was talking about: it's the difference between v1 and v2, two snapshots of the same thing (and people tend to only be interested it it at what changed in-between, in this case time, tends to zero). The usage of delta that started this wretched thread was the difference between two different things - AMD and INTC's share prices.

I thought so as well, but I'll admit that they don't really look like a "standard" lowercase delta. I guess I can accept Neil et. al.'s position on this one, namely that it's just an oddly shaped d ;)
