<Somebody will get on TV. . .and talk about depression, global economic meltdown, food lines, Asian banking panic, rumor of large institutional failure or something like that to put a final mass scare into the public. . . to force a final capitulation.>

Only if that somebody is a somebody, cuz I've been hearing that for weeks on my TV.
