I suspect that demand is outstripping supply in CA. Don't you think that if gas could be gotten less expensively that the utilities would be screaming?

btw, I believe I read that Enron is actually losing money on its gas contracts in CA.

CA is closer to the Mid East?

The only explanation is government. I spend much of last Fall traveling in the West and noticed the huge price difference between gas in Cresent City and up the line in Oregon.

Must have to do with state taxes and huge costs of complying with CA emissions.
