and often cut the hotdogs into incredibly small pieces.

I hope they're Kosher hot dogs. Do you realize what kind of junk can go into a regular hotdog?

You seem to want to do the same with the 2nd Amendment. Throw in the "progressive" tax laws, and maybe we'll talk...

You are a fascist or their dupe.

Well, I'm for no ownership of handguns by anyone except peace officials; period.

Outlaw all automatic weapons (why in the world do we need them?).

They are heavily regulated, close to being outlawed in most cases. Legal automatic weapons cause almost no deaths in the US. Illegal ones would still exist if the heavy regulation was changed to an outright ban, but in any case they also cause few deaths.

The difference between shootings and bike/drowning accidents are that the shooting ones are COMPLETELY PREVENTABLE IF GUNS WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

And you seem to have some fantasy that guns will become unavailable if they are outlawed.

Better laws? Well, I'm for no ownership of handguns by anyone except peace officials; period.

Do you know how many times over you can be killed in the time it takes a cop to respond to a call? You are ignoring all the people who successfully defend themselves or others from murders, thieves and rapists using guns.

Two months after the much-reported October 16, 1991 incident where a madman randomly murdered 23 lunchers, and wounded another 19 at a restaurant in Killeen, Texas, postal clerk Thomas Glenn Terry, who had a license to carry his concealed .45 semi-auto pistol, saved 20 hostages in an Anniston, Alabama restaurant from
takeover robbers--one of whom had murdered a motel clerk just a few days earlier. No TV network news program mentioned it. A madman with a gun is news. A hero with one isn't.

The same thing happened again on September 18, 1992, when ex-prizefighter Randy Shields, a part-time bodyguard with a rare license to carry a concealed .380 semi-auto pistol, saved a 4 n 20 Pie Shop in Studio City, California from a gang of takeover robbers who had already started shooting wildly at customers and employees.
The story wasn't reported outside Southern California--and the anti-gun Los Angeles Times buried the story in its sports section.

They claim that 13 "children" are killed daily by guns.
Now, just what picture does that put in your head...
blood stained Pampers and Teddy Bears? Think again.

Seventy percent of those "children" are 17 - 19 year old
gang-bangers, and less than 3% are 10 or under.

Since 1993, more kids have been killed by car safety air
bags than in school shootings.

Your kid is going to end up being afraid of his own shadow imo. A 10 year old that can't eat a whole hotdog? At least now I am starting to understand where your fear is coming from.

Btw: I am as paranoid about bike accidents with my kids; I don't let them ride alone yet (oldest is 10), and drownings (our pool has a hard cover that is always closed unless an adult is supervising). I even worry about them choking on hot dogs, and often cut the hotdogs into incredibly small pieces.

Dang! Man I have a ten year old and the guy rides his bike every dang where-- all alone!

You are gonna croak when I tell you this, but-- and now brace yourself---- he has a gun. (OOOOOOOOOHHH!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!! HEEEELLLLP!!!!!!! HEEEELLLLP!!!!!!!)

In fact he has a couple of guns that he uses depending upon the sort of shooting he will being doing for the day.

He jumps into our pool and low and behold he doesn't drown at all! Heck, the dang kid even knows how to eat a friggin hotdog without my having to cut it up. FANCY THAT!!

I don't know about you, my friend. I'm thinkin either something's wrong with your kid, or maybe you're being just a wee bit neurotic. Maybe you should lighten up and let your kid live a little.

Now I tell ya what I'm gonna do to help you. Give me your address. I'll send my son over on his bike. He'll bring his guns to show your 10 year old, and then maybe the two of them can go out for a swim after which they can enjoy a coupla hotdogs (grin).
