The Nasdaq is actually falling harder than the '29-'30 Dow did. Not as deep...yet. That said- Most of the gains lost have been paper losses. Temporary millionaires are just back to being middle class again.

While it certainly hurts sentiment, the effects may not be all that bad. Lots of folks will have to postpone that early retirement for a few years and add to the real economy, and frivilous spending will be cut back. Certainly many 'investors' have learned some tough lessons about markets and bubbles. Too bad they didn't read "The Road to Retirement City' and learn it beforehand. <g>

The smart survive and become stronger in the end. Crap companies disappear, and good companies will keep on plugging along. Life goes on..
