The point was not the wind millls. The point of the story, in a very round about way, was that the California Power authorities had cut off the feed to these people because it was not cost efficient to maintain it. The windmill consortium was up in arm about this, and were threatening to don the armor and charge into Sacramento. It made a great story. Particularly with the power prices going up so dramatically.

The fact that this was just another case where the authorities had not moved to preserve generation was the issue. The state had to come back and say. 'Yes these guys in the hills near SF, that millions of people see everyday, are back in business. We recognize this was a mistake. This is one of the many mistakes we recognize.'

It's more fun to go tilting at windmills than pay attention to the real problems......

yorikke

Gov. Davis was very assertive of the proactive steps he says he's been taking in terms of ordering new
power plant construction and other energy creation measures. Companies that make measurement
equipment that can more effectively keep track of both consumer and industry energy conservation efforts
should benefit very nicely from this episode.
