First point I'd like to talk about with the release is all the talk from different analysts and
hardware guru's saying that AMD was delaying the release of the 1.33GHz due to problems
with the chip. I haven't heard any of this from anyone in the industry, nor do I personally think
AMD has any problem scaling this chip past 1.33GHz. I don't feel it's in AMD's best interest to
continue to raise the speed grades on the Athlon considering Intel's P4 is pretty much getting
slammed by everyone, everywhere. But so be it, the marketing people wanna have their fun;
let them. We won't complain. As per some proof that this chip was not delayed, check below.
The driver CD for the review system is dated 2-20-01. That would be February 20, 2001.
Almost a month before release, AMD was reportedly showing OEM's the 1.33GHz. Delay?
