Art, on instinct I tend to agree with your son. As to whether the Navy can do better than the sub-50% hit rate of ground-based Patriot missile system, I'm sure only God and the aerospace contractors know for sure.

We also agree on the seaworthiness of Texan Presidents.

Art, I am trying to resolve an enigma.

At a rally more than 8 years ago, someone asked Bill Clinton if electing him would be good for the stock market. His reply was that he wasn't sure how the stock market would react but that he could virtually guarantee that bond holders would be advantaged by his Presidency.

At the time it was a politically unwise statement. And, it made little sense to me how he could come to such a conclusion at the time.

Now that many years have past and what Clinton said has proven itself to be quite true, do you have any idea how he could have known what he knew way back when?

PS In case anyone thinks this message is off-topic, please consider the fact that the SOX has been decimated to the tune of ~80% since the Presidential campaign began in the Spring of 2000. Anyone who can explain this event in non-political terms is welcome to give it a shot.
