Eastwood's system, installed early last year, cost $200,000. According to Michael Waxer, vice president of the Carmel Development Co., Eastwood put in the system even after finding out it would cost him $6 per watt -- about twice the rate that made sense economically.

And there's lies the rub.. cost per watt.

But I definitely agree with Clint about being paid for whatever power he provides back into the grid.

I am becoming more convinced that this summer could cause some terrific operational problems for California companies. I wonder how many will be shifting their operations to off-peak hours.
