Robert: Thanks. The US has cards to play in Asia, but the US is well behind Japan in exploiting the new economy -- I mean Asia of course <vbg>. The US could do far more to exploit a very deep divide in Asia -- the distrust of the Japanese and the fear of Japanese dominance. There is some fear of Chinese dominance -- but less than the fear, distrust and dislike of the Japanese among other Asian countries. Japan gives money to other countries like candy. This "buying into their good graces" is beginning to work. And Japan is investing heavily. The US does not fully comprehend what is at stake. Asian countries are not worried about US domination -- this is a huge potential advantage but it is slipping through our hands every day.
