It depends how you're looking at the commercial short position on the Spoo's.

You're right that the NET position saw a big reduction. Is this just a temporary drop? Time will tell.

As a percentage, the commercials are still short near record numbers on the Spoo's. IE, there was a big reduction in both the long and short commercial positions, but as a percentage they are short by about the same amount.
