Re: "When the girl said $387.00, I started laughing..." - No crud. Ridiculous. And then the clowns acted all surprised at I695? "The tribe has spoken!" <g>

"But the paper work..." - Typical evolutionary process to ensure job security for bureaucrats and politicians.

Given that others can probably say the same thing, this place is still definitely up there on the odd-meter. I simply think that most of the decision makers haven't bothered to read Milton and are ignorant about where roads paved with good intentions usually lead. And they damned sure haven't read any decent Economics tomes.

The area is decidedly lacking in long-term thinkers. But where isn't? ( 'sides maybe Austria? <g> )

PS. Used to live in FL for a few years as a kid. Hated the heat and the bugs after the daily rains. The thunderstorms were very cool though. I'm an army brat and we moved around a lot, but here the T-storms are few and far between. Love to see Ma Nature let her hair down once in a while, and I miss Thunderstorms instead of this wimpy, misting, pissy rain-for-72 hours crud. But I'm not going anywhere.

Didn't it take 'em 2 or 3 years to get rid of the rental plates, years ago? That wasn't well thought out. But driving school and weapons training sound fun anyway! <g>
