Karen:

It doesn't sound like we disagree all that much.

Karen, one of the main reasons the secular left is so dangerous is because they have accepted the notion that, what we can't win in the arena of ideas, (public support) we will win in court.

In California, the people voted down racial preferences overwhelmingly. Yet the secular left found one of their radical judges sitting on the court, and had the will of the people overturned. The same thing is happening related to many other issues.

- I just posted you an article highlighting the desire of the left to distribute pornography to our children via the library system.

- In Washington State, the people's initiative to limit growth of spending, has been overturned by the the secular left in court.

- Schools plays are under assault for using figures such as baby Jesus, or singing religiously inspired Christmas Carols.

Since the teachers union is one of the arms of the secular left, these type of efforts are gaining momentum.

- The teaching of history in our public schools is being changed yearly by secularists hell bent on painting America as some evil ruthless nation.

- We have largely removed a moment of silent prayer in school, our pledge of allegiance is being altered to remove the words, "Under God".

- Sex education classes have become entrenched in our classrooms, where there is no evidence it has actually helped reduce teen pregnancy or disease among the youth. These classes are now being used to promote same sex marriage, and gay relationships.

- The boy scouts are under assault from the secular left.

- Drugs such as Ritallin, are being used more and more on young people.

- Counselors and school health practicioners are being used by the left to assist young girls in obtaining abortions. Many times without the knowledge of their parents. In many cases, kids can't get a stitch at school without parental consent, yet they can have an abortion. (a procedure which is oftentimes extremely traumatic and dangerous)

I could list many more, and maybe I will later. I definitely disagree with you that we have more to fear from the far right in America, then we do the far left.

The ACLU is nothing but an arm of the far left in this country. And their goal is to advance their agenda, regardless of support by a majority of the citizens.

Unless George W. does the same thing Clinton did, namely, fire all the federal judges, and hire ones aligned toward his values. Radical court appointee's will continue to advance the secular left's agenda.

You havn't seen recent articles in the SF Chron, then. AIDS rates (new cases) going back up in a major way. They say the drugs that hold AIDS at bay and the younger generation that has not seen many of their friends die are to blame. The descriptions of some (not all) gay behavior is unbelievable to me. Many that are positive will not tell partners unless they are asked (s/b attempted manslaughter imo). Lots of cases of multiple partners, barebacking, etc. that make it hard for the average joe to understand (or to have much sympathy for). Some VERY irresponsible behavior by a significant portion of the gay community imo.
