<The best way to succeed at business is to help your customers succeed>

Pravin,

I agree with that statement wholeheartedly but I don't think that it can be extended as: "the best way to succeed at business is to help your customers succeed at all costs. I don't have the specific details of the situation from IBM's perspective, perhaps no one who reads this thread does, but if IBM took product in lieu of cash payment for fab services and were having difficulty selling that product and Cyrix would not buy IBM's share of the the wafers (which Scumbria just suggested) then I don't think it is logical to fault IBM for taking whatever measures they deemed appropriate to redeem the value of their payment for fab services rendered. Maybe IBM could have been more helpful or more conciliatory to Cyrix and maybe they felt for whatever reason that they couldn't but whatever the situation was I think it is an overextension to assert without very specific details that IBM overtly screwed Cyrix which was Scumbria's original assertion (that IBM screws their partners).

Regards,

Epinephrine
