My point was that many who are at the top of the heap did NOT get there because of hard work, but purely the luck of their birthplace. And many of those same people crow about how people in the lower classes 'just need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps'. And the ones who DID work their ways up often do not recognize the advantages they had or the luck that allowed them to 'make it'. I do not propose a redistribution of wealth. I do propose that the uneven playing field be leveled somewhat. Then, those who choose WILL have the opportunity at hitting the same patch of luck that you and I did. Some will choose not to take advantage of that opportunity. It is their choice. But at least they'll have that choice.
