Skeeter...sorry to hear it. Are you employed in an internet content type of business? Tech or non-tech? From my perspective (I work in the healthcare industry), qualified and capable IT employees by and large still are in pretty high demand. But it seems like they are less eager to move around given the general atmosphere of uncertainty about the economy. If nothing else, it sounds like you've been pretty careful in the market and haven't had your head handed to you like so many others. Having some cash in the bank and a controllable debt load makes a huge difference in situations like yours. Anyways, it sounds like you've had some warning and given it some thought.
