I agree that bizzare events of the last few years call for tough measures. However, some looneis have created a situation where a slip of tongue or some other childish behaviour is causing expulsion of some students from school districts. A student was expelled from the school for wrestling with another kid (apparantly he tried to choke the other). An 8 year old in New Orleans was expelled for drawing a picture with a gun and blood! Something ain't right!

Ever wonder how an innocent use of a phrase like "If you don't tell me, I will kill you" in an e-mail of chat room can put a kid's entire life in jeopardy? The fact is, 99.9% of the time, kids talk like that and don't even think about acting on that thought, much less do it! But, instead of realizing the childishness in such incidents, if the school boards go to the extreme measures, it will create an evil than cure something that may not have existed in the first place!

As a parent with two kids in school, I can;t help but wonder "how in the world I can expect my kids to act so mature at which even grown-ups have such a big problem!"
