Too true.

My little kitty is a mouse killing machine. You can't train away instinct....forever anyway.
It's almost the same with dogs. I am constantly by amazed people who have small children, but decide to buy a dog that has the capacity to kill 50 lb. animals....and will be more than happy to do so with the right training. I have a Golden Lab, that is huge, but simply does not have the jaw strength or in-bred temperment to cause serious damage.

An acquaintance of mine recently bought a Pittbull. She had all the usual arguments, that it is how you train them, that it is so gentle with children, that it is very smart, etc. My question to her was, are you certain that any of that will mean anything if your kid and the dog are rolling around in the yard playing and the dog gets stung by a bee? Why tempt fate, when there are so many choices.

Sorry about the OT rant. Back to business: Hamed by decision.
