Yes, I recall our discussing that. The reason I looked up the history was because one of the RWEs posted the there was a move afoot by the "secular liberals" to take the "under God" back out. I haven't been able to verify that and it seems unlikely in this climate. I had forgotten that it was the Knights of Columbus that got that language added in the first place but I clearly remember when it happened.

The author seems like an interesting guy.

Interesting that you saw the "under God" part of the pledge as something that irked you.....I saw it as something that didn't make any sense: I recited it over and over again, but never really got the "under God" part.....I guess there's something to be said for bliss.
