I sympathize completely, Duke. I lived there for 10 years. . . mostly in Palm Desert. And I understand the growth. But this hike will further alienate customers from their utilities. . .resulting in a distinct lack of cooperation from customers. . . . who would say, "hey, I'm paying serious money for my electric. . .I'm gonna use it whenever I feel like using it." This could lead to monitored usage, which becomes like a big brother thing and furthers the divide and the animosity.

I just don't see an easy resolution to the problem. Not this summer anyway. And I still believe that this year there will be record numbers of people abandoning California for good. . . .especially now that so many jobs can be done from anywhere. . . .and Northern California median housing is just under $400K. There are plenty of bubbles in California that have yet to burst. But just watch how FAST all that can change. . . . especially when the power goes off.

Thanks and best wishes, Duke.
