Some guy on CNBC talking about CSCO:

Moving toward fair value

In one year, the stock should be higher

Investors must "close their eyes and put on blinders" when buying this stock. In the long run, it will do well

CSCO must be viewed as the complete package

Perhaps the "slow bleed" was allowed to continue on purpose, as the stock is reaching a turnaround price

Anyone have any idea what he means by the last point ?

I have followed Gary Shilling for years through my 25 odd years subscription to Forbes magazine. Although some want to equate our debt problems to Japan's the two on closer examination are quite different.

Our S & L crisis a number of years ago cleaned up that part of the debt crisis. Non performing debt by the banks has to be reported in this country. In Japan that is not true! Pretty scary! Japan's land value crisis is still haunting their banking problems since most of the banks over there have not written down all those bad, non paying loans...

Granted a lot of folks here (not on this thread!) are carrying a lot of debt.

Monty might be able to chime in here and comment on commercial real estate lending problems.
