An interesting article comparing this year's Nasdaq crash with the 1929 Dow crash, complete with pretty charts:

Hi Chic,

You're certainly entitled to your opinion of Voltaire and the responsibility each of us has with regard to our money, however you are underestimating the influence that Voltaire and other self-appointed gurus have on people, particularly when they claim to have the aid and protection of angels.

It appears that your recent reading of this thread has been cursory, as most of the content is directly market related and the postership is widening, thanks to great deal of effort on Allan's part.

Hi Chic,

nice post.

Tough for a Bull to be right in a Bear market in the short run.

Will be right in the long run.

1. Don't fight the Fed.

2. No recession

3. Lower interest rates - takes care of Auto depression

4. " " ' - takes care of Housing depression.

BUY THIS MARKET AND ESPECIALLY - NEWP

Chic,

It's nice to read your opinion about vman. Unfortunately our opinions differ greatly on him and his calls. I wasn't going to answer your post until I saw you bragging about it on the moderated porch, and then after posting a link to your reply to me, you then thanked whomever it was that unbanned you.

Message 15580410

The following is JMHO also.

Now that being said, let's begin with the difference between you posting on this thread and your postings on the moderated thread. Your chances of being banned here for speaking your mind are 0, but I think you already know that, don't you ? However, in the alternative, had you posted your opinions on the moderated thread, and those opinions were opposed to voltaires, you would still be counting yourself among the banned. That is telling in itself.

Moving further along, I find many qualities of voltaire's reprehensible. Without distinguishing each quality and causing a further debate, I will name a few. In my opinion, voltaire lies with impunity and will never, never admit a mistake. It is also my opinion that he has devastated many people, and I assume that this feeling is fairly accurate as there is now a disclaimer attached to the thread header. It is interesting to note the timing of this disclaimer is after the horses have left the barn. If you perceive my posts to voltaire as some type of attack, so be it, I do not care to change your mind. I do know that they are intended as a warning to anyone who will put their faith in his market calls.

Regarding your statement about making your own decisions and not caring what any else does, that may be true to a degree. However, do you think voltaire cares about how many people he may have ruined ? I believe we both know the answer to that. The only time he may care and act contrite is if that lawsuit he jokes and ridicules people about becomes a reality. It's my bet, if that actually happens, that we then see a contrite voltaire. Speaking about ridicule, that is also one of his strong points, instead of feeling bad for anyone he may have ruined, he chooses to ridicule and belittle them. A lovely personality trait, don't you agree.

One last note to you Chic, it is also my opinion that voltaire and possibly others on his thread, may be attempting to front run stocks. I am sure that even you can see the implications in that. Tell me why else would someone who is held in his esteem on that thread, stoop to threatening someone's family. That's right Chic vman actually did that, but we all know now that even his threats are only for entertainment purposes ( no LOL here from me ). That type of situation is not unlike a penny stock promoter when their "gooroo" status is questioned. To me this is another telltale sign that there is more than meets the eye with mr. voltaire. Let's hope that no one you love or care about ever gets caught up with following the advice of a "gooroo", such as voltaire. Let's see Chic, maybe voltaire will read this post ( he tells me, he never opens my posts, which is another lie, as the last time he PMed me he commented on the contents, which could not be read from the first line )and publicly apologize for his threat.

Tom
