"Vodafone wants to take control of Verizon's wireless unit.."
----------

US regulators, politicians would never allow this to happen.

I can see it now.....

Vodafone proposes to seize control of the largest US mobile carrier and eject US developed 3G wireless technology in favor of the 3G standard developed and favored in Europe.

To date, US 3G technology has been unable to compete in Europe. US vendors state that reasons are political.

Quoting an article in the Financial Times - The 3G window of opportunity - By Alan Cane in London - dated March 28, ....... news.ft.com
