Delphi to cut 11,500 jobs, exit $900 million in products
TROY, Mich., March 29 (Reuters) - Delphi Automotive Systems, (NYSE:DPH - news) the world's No. 1 auto parts supplier, said on Thursday it would slash 11,500 jobs, or 5 percent of its global workforce, and cut businesses generating about $900 million in annual revenues in a restructuring plan prompted in part by uncertainty over auto industry output.

Troy, Mich.-based Delphi said it would sell, close or consolidate nine plants and cut workforces at more than 40 other facilities. The company also said it would take a charge in the first quarter of $400 million after taxes.

Just 13 weeks ago CSCO July 2001 rev estimates were 40 billion $..

Today CSCO July 2001 estimates of rev have been dropped to 28 billion $..

By the way 8 weeks back these were the estimates of CSCO for year ending July 2000..

The above discounts in revenues take into account a huge lsow down in tech and economy, as i hear rumors that yesterday CSCO traded 185 m shares three times normal as after NT this can be the next stock, I think like NOK the market expects to much negativity, we will see as inventories of oil increases larger reduction in oil, and we may see strogner growth as cuts take into effect and may be July 2001 we may see these revenues estmimates as too conservative, at the moment these are facts..

PALM rebounding as expected: ALL HAVE GROWTH: HANDspring "Continued Sales Growth", also CPQ iPaq, also RIMM Blackberry. THEIR GROWTH MEANS PALM GROWTH ALSO, as I stated yesterday, this was a lowered guidance to SUCKER PUNCH the ANALysts so lower earnings estimates could ONCE AGAIN be exceeded in 4th Quarter, as PALM BEATS THE STREET AGAIN. Glad I bought and held at $8 yesterday, nice profit already, but I am going to hold to $50 instead of my prior $46, BECAUSE when the SUCKER PUNCH happens and EARNINGS ARE EXCEEDED then PALM will zoom alog with the general market recovery well ahead of the rest of the economy. ALSO NOTE PALMs quarters are not standard end of year (IRS fiscal) quarters. Christmas therefore, will again show a complete SOLD OUT INVENTORY I predict. Personally this was a buying opportunity, but at 130 Million shares yesterday, WHO WAS THE BUYER, it could not have just been small investor like ourselves, it must have been LONG TERM INSTITUTIONS FOR WINDOW DRESSING IN GROWTH.
Thanks for the CEO Donna Dubinsky quote on HANDspring, it proves the point. Unlike others that panicked you got the point to BUY LOWER and now you are sitting with a good position, like I am, loaded with PALM.
I am,
Truly your$,
