NTAP Killer? Hmmm... it remains to be seen. I wonder though... isn't the "REAL" bottleneck the disk latencies caused by excessive disk seeks? I mean, unless they've redesigned a new file system to eliminate this I can't understand how much faster they'll really be? Isn't this the same thing Auspex did with custom ASICS? The only difference is BlueArc is using FPGA's which are cheaper to test and have quicker turn-around when a bug is discovered. What about Native multiprotocol, snapshots, snapmirror. What RAID level (if any) are they running when getting 10x performance? Actually, the only solution for this product might be for production houses which are doing video editing or applications which require fast sequential disk access (with RAID turned off of course.)

WHEN NTAP DOUBLES: not IF, but only WHEN. NTAP is cheaper to deploy, service, and maintain than EMC or Brocade or Procom or HP, or IBM or even BlueArc. NTAP NAS moving into OSN with SAN will outpace them all. NTAP WILL DOUBLE, and this is the correct question that should be asked of all stocks, IF and not WHEN, if they never will double, don't buy them at all, if you are in for a short term 5, 10, 20, to 90% don't buy them at all, go the FULL DOUBLE OR NOTHING that's 100% minimum, and if you do not have the DD or faith that your stock WILL DOUBLE, then it fails the IF TEST, and this test is never a WHEN test. BUY IF they will DOUBLE. That's why I buy NTAP and PALM because they will still be around to DOUBLE again and again, when is just a comparison of them to the rest of the market prospects, and I beleive they will get there sooner than most, and that is all that you can do. That's INVESTING instead of TRADING. I am, Truly your$, -Crystal Ball
