Kap: EV6 will be around for 2-3 years. Why do you think the Thoroughbred line was conceived? To lessen the dependence on K8/LDT and to milk the EV6 infrastructure for few more years.

I see Tbred and Appaloosa mainly as insurance against Hammer problems. If the Hammer chips and LDT infrastructure ramp well, the .13mu EV6 Athlons could have a very short window of existence. EV6 motherboards are just too expensive to be a real force in the low low end (repeat deliberate ;)). Of course, if Intel drops the single-pumped GTL+ bus altogether, that could change things. I just don't see that happening in the low end until LDT is very well established.

Kap,

I think there would be a value in moving the Thoroughbred line to LDT, if the Hammer line ramps up too slowly or is delayed.
