Joe: I think the motherboard prices are $30 to $50 too high across the board, compared to Socket 370 prices. The EV6 bus requires more traces, more pins and higher quality components compared to the 133MHz GTL+ bus of the Socket370. Price parity there is unlikely to happen ever. Yet another reason AMD needs LDT. (gotta get to LDT ;))) -fyo

Joe, from a quick look at pricewatch, I think you may be overestimating mobo costs a little. The cheapest current kt133 listing is $70, with a page and a half below $80, and there's a kt133a listing for $72. The latter looks pretty interesting, actually, it's an Elitegroup ECS K7VZA Rev. 3.0, which seems to have gotten good reviews in its kt133 incarnation, see active-hardware.com sysopt.earthweb.com , and tomshardware.com . On the integrated front, km133 integrated boards start at $80, with a full page below $100. As near as I can tell, km133 boards can be had cheaper than the lowest cost Intel 815e board at $89. Dual Athlon boards, on the other hand, I expect will be pricey for a while due to the p2p processor connection, plus limited availability, when they finally come ou t.. The 760mp is supposed to have 900 pins or something.
