When Korea rolled out CDMA in 1995, they had very little experience, but they rolled out a single 1.25 MHz spectrum in about 6 months. Once they got local mfg and local basestation expereince, they rolled out the entire 8 bands of 1.25 MHz in less than 2 more years. they then went to PCS and rolled out another 4-5 bands in one more year. Now they could probably roll out the entire network that size in a few months.

As China grows on the learning curve and gains alot more experience in local domestic mfg, I predict that they will roll out 50M handsets a year wihtout much trouble at all. And probably within 2 years from now....
