David - the sad thing is that IF there's another 30% fall in the dow, THEN a great many houses of cards could TIP OVER. It's the tipping over that causes the problem. And whether you like it or not, there is a non-zero probability that a major collapse is in the works. As to Chic getting left behind by the next bull market? I wouldn't bet on that. He was once a raving bull, now prowling bear. I suspect that when it's appropriate his view will turn bullish again. But I'd let time be the jury on this, rather than convict him with imperfect foresight. Of course, you may be right. He may grow up and think he knows everything like most of the adults around here. I enjoy his perspective myself. John.
