Lars, Thanks for your input on ADSL access. Europe and Japan are so far ahead of us in the US it's comical.

I don't have any figures on hand, but I can tell you that over here, broadband is much less available. There's a lot of territory to cover, so it's a slow rollout. The financial problems of our telecom companies has really slowed things down as well.

I've been calling my phone provider and cable company for two years now and keep getting the same answer. "Only a few more months, really." Yeah right, it's been years and they keep putting it off in my neighborhood (10 minutes from Seattle city center).

Our POTS (plain old telephone service) gets me a 24.6 connection, so it takes 10 minutes to read 10 posts that should take me 2 minutes.

I'm 10 minutes from the main Microsoft campus, you'd think I could get a decent internet connection?!?!
