>> Malcolm baby...: if you don't you ain't gonna be around in world of investing for very much longer.

I hope that post isn't a good representation of the depth of your dd when investing, Auric. All you needed to do was click on Mr. Bersohn's profile to learn that he is one of the senior members on our board, and has been investing successfully for about 5 decades.

>> The whole premise of this thread of "large market cap >$10 B gorillas" is a farce.

Dig a little deeper and you'll find that we have another tracking portfolio for candidates with market caps < $10B. If your premise is that small cap techs have fared better in this market than large caps, I'd invite you to substantiate it with data, but don't think it will stand up under scrutiny.

>> The reason the gorilla index is down so much is because the schmomentum investors who knew nothing other than the stock and its profits were going up

If you'd spend the time necessary to rtfm (The Gorilla Game by Dr. Geoffrey Moore), you would quickly find that our approach differs markedly from Momentum investing. In fact, I would be happy to send you a free copy of that fine book, provided you agreed to repay us with an unbiased critique of its approach. PM me with the necessary shipping information, and I'll place the order with Amazon this afternoon.

The whole schem is unravelling before your eyes and yout try to shoot the messanger who is only here to try and help you from being in the bread line.

Repent!

This sounds rather disingenuous. How are you helping anybody. Many people who held all tech stocks through the CRASH have already seen their portfolios devastated, so coming along now with your Cotton Mather line is like giving somebody a fire extinguisher after their house burns down.

Furthermore, it gives a bad image to the people who've been criticizing tech stock valuations in more serious fashion.

SAG - Well... you are certainly direct.

Perhaps it's obvious, but your posts here are as welcome as a guy with a Honda jacket tipping over the hogs at a Harley club.

Sure, no thread should be so bigoted that it would not discuss contrary opinions. Even if they are not gracefully phrased.

But rudely attacking individuals for holding certain views does not invite discussion. I suggest you try to shine your light upon the views, not into the eyes of the people who hold them.

You might get a better reception.

John.
